Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 February 2026
By accessing or using Scout by SCD Labs (“Scout”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
Scout by SCD Labs is an algorithmic screening tool that scans ASX-listed small-capitalisation securities and presents calculated data points, scores, and reference levels. The Service is designed for personal research and informational purposes only.
2. Not Financial Advice
Scout provides general information only. It does not constitute personal financial advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security. The content is generated by an algorithm, not a licensed financial adviser, and has not been prepared with reference to your individual financial situation, objectives, or needs.
Scout by SCD Labs does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and is not authorised to provide financial product advice under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
You should consider seeking independent financial advice from a licensed professional before making any investment decision.
3. No Reliance
You must not rely on the Service as the sole or primary basis for any investment, trading, or financial decision. All data, scores, reference levels, and algorithmic outputs are provided for informational purposes only and should be used as one input among many in your own independent research.
4. Risk Acknowledgement
Trading in small-capitalisation securities carries a high degree of risk, including the risk of total loss of capital. Small-cap stocks may be illiquid, volatile, and subject to limited information. Past performance of any signal, score, or metric presented on the Service is not indicative of future results.
5. Data Sources and Accuracy
The Service sources data from third-party providers including Yahoo Finance, the ASX announcements feed, and public sentiment sources. Data may be:
- Delayed by 15–20 minutes (price and fundamental data)
- Incomplete, inaccurate, or contain errors
- Subject to gaps or interruptions from upstream providers
SmallCapData does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data. All data is provided on a best-efforts basis. Always verify data independently.
6. Algorithmic Output
All scores, reference levels, conviction ratings, and signals are generated algorithmically. These outputs may contain errors, and are not reviewed or verified by a human analyst. The algorithm may change without notice.
The operator of SmallCapData may hold positions in securities that appear in the Service. This creates a potential conflict of interest.
7. Subscription Tiers
Scout offers the following subscription tiers:
- Scout Free ($0/month): Top 10 signals per scan, basic Scout AI chat, paper trading dashboard, sector snapshots, and mobile alerts. Free forever — no credit card required.
- Scout Pro ($24.99 AUD/month or $274 AUD/year): All 2,000+ signals updated 6x daily, full Scout AI with page context awareness, conviction tier analysis, CANSLIM deep dives, CSV export, correlation matrix, custom watchlists, and real-time alerts.
- Scout PRO (coming soon — pricing available at smallcapdata.com/pricing): Everything in Scout Pro, plus behavioural coaching — exit timing education, conviction bias pattern analysis, score divergence alerts, and cohort benchmarking. Scout PRO coaching is educational only and does not constitute personal financial advice.
Feature availability within each tier may change. We will notify subscribers of material changes via email.
8. Billing and Payment
Paid subscriptions are billed via Stripe. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
- Free trial: Scout Pro subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
- Billing cycle: After the trial, your payment method will be charged automatically at the start of each billing cycle (monthly or annually, as selected).
- Annual billing: Annual subscriptions are billed as a single payment. Scout Pro annual ($274/yr) saves approximately $25 compared to monthly billing.
- Money-back guarantee: If you are unsatisfied, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your first payment by contacting scout-support@smallcapdata.com.
- Early-bird pricing: Promotional pricing (e.g., 20% off for early users) applies only for the stated period and reverts to standard pricing automatically.
9. Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Stripe customer portal.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then.
- No partial refunds are provided for the remaining period after the 7-day guarantee window.
- Annual subscribers who cancel mid-term retain access until the end of their annual period.
- Downgrading from Scout PRO to Scout Pro removes access to behavioural coaching features immediately at the next billing cycle.
- Downgrading from Scout Pro to Scout Free limits signals to the top 10 per scan.
Scout reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice to existing subscribers.
10. Scout PRO Behavioural Coaching
Scout PRO includes educational coaching features that analyse your trading patterns and decision-making behaviour. By using Scout PRO, you acknowledge that:
- Coaching outputs are educational only — they teach you about your own behavioural patterns.
- Coaching is not directive — Scout PRO does not tell you what to buy, sell, or hold.
- Coaching is not financial advice — it is insight to help you make your own decisions.
- You retain 100% of your investment decisions and 100% of the associated risk.
- Behavioural tracking data is stored in your browser’s localStorage only — no personally identifiable information or financial data is collected or transmitted.
- You may opt out of behavioural tracking at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage or disabling the feature in settings.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service for personal research purposes only. You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense any data or content from the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
- Use the Service to provide financial advice to third parties
- Misrepresent Scout content as your own analysis or professional advice
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scout by SCD Labs and its operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to trading losses, lost profits, or loss of data.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
13. Intellectual Property
All content, scoring methodologies, algorithms, and design elements of Scout by SCD Labs are the intellectual property of the operator. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
14. Privacy
